Actalent is Seeking an QC Chemist for a great opportunity working for a food and beverage manufacturing company in the Eustis, Fl area.
Job Description:
- Operates and maintains HPLC units (5). In addition to prepping and running samples following established protocol, responsible for maintaining instruments, calibrating, and following maintenance regimen.
- Prepare eluent and required reagents.
- Responsible for accuracy in the preparation of reagents, eluents, and standards.
- Performs chemical and physical analyses on a variety of samples, including food products and intermediate samples.
- Tests include but are not limited to organoleptic evaluations, pH, acidity titrations, sodium, nitrate/nitrite analyses, Brix, moisture, specific gravity, pulp content, etc.
- Performs required calculations and posts/maintains required spreadsheets.
- Performs microbiological analyses on a variety of products, following required aseptic techniques in media prep, sample collection, plating and bacteria identification.
- Logs samples and related pertinent information. Follows appropriate documentation and record-keeping procedures.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field, with further education being advantageous.
- Experience in scientific research and laboratory work may be advantageous.
- Proficiency with computers and scientific equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Must have a minimum of at least 1 year HPLC working experience.
Pay:
- $20/hr
