QC Lab Tech
Tasks
A. Supports operations by generating required analysis data, communicates the quality status of materials, and releases finished products as authorized.
B. Learns all required quality system procedures and work instructions. Works under the supervision of the TS Manager until certified in the position.
C. Performs assigned calibrations and scheduled tasks.
D. Maintains essential documentation for cGMP compliance (nonconformances, calibration testing and recertifications, data logging).
Other Functions:
A: Performs additional assigned duties as required by the QC/ Technical Services Manager.
They have GMP and In-Process lab. This person will be in GMP lab – will be working with raw materials, critical in-process samples required by GMP to test, and finished goods/products. Finished products; pure chemical compounds like menthol pellets, solid pellet form and liquids, some other components but mainly menthol / chemical components for cosmetic ingredients.
Difference between labs is that the in-process lab is more production based lab and mainly handle spec checks.
Shift – rotating 4/10s: Start on 8am-4pm for first few weeks of training likely at least 2 weeks; Rotation: Mon-Thursday 1st shift 6am-4pm, Tues-Fri 2nd shift 2pm-12am (midnight) & Weekend Shift Friday Day Shift 6am-4pm, Sat/Sun 6am-4pm and Monday 2pm-12am

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience: High school diploma minimum. Bachelors preferred. GC experience preferred but not required.
Minimum 1 year experience in an analytical or quality control laboratory is preferred with a working knowledge of chromatography (HPLC, GC).
Skills & Abilities: Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to visually assess and distinguish plant materials. Basic math and mechanical skills are necessary. Ability to correctly interpret and communicate analytical results relative to process requirements. Microsoft Office and general computer skills needed.
Instrumentation: GC (HPLC is better than no chromatography experience at all but main test is GC), other techniques would consist of UV-Vis, NMR, Spectroscopy, KF, pH, specific gravity and other basic wet chemistry.
