Description:
Our client is an FDA-registered, FSSC 22000-certified cGMP manufacturer of high purity specialty chemicals for pharmaceutical, biotech, nutritional, food and other markets. They were recently reclassified as an API to support pharmaceutical products as well as food etc.
• Works under general supervision of the Microbiology Supervisor a c-GMP regulated manufacturing environment operating under Q7A standards.
• Prepares the microbiological laboratory for testing including cleaning and stocking the laboratory, prepares media, calibrates instruments, and trends data.
Tasks
• Ensure that samples are properly labeled and stored to prevent contamination.
• Prepare media for testing and media melt.
• Perform a variety of tests and experiments on microorganisms, including gram stains and performing pH of media.
• Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly calibrated. Report any equipment malfunctions.
• Environmental monitoring testing and documenting the environmental monitoring program in a high care packing room as needed.
• Trend data efficiently
• Log equipment temperature readings daily
• Calibrate instruments as required
• Order supplies, stock, and clean laboratory
• Maintain documentation
• Any tasks deemed necessary for betterment of Jost Quality

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Specifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology or related science; or equivalent combination of Bachelor’s degree and pertinent, progressive experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry.
• One year of experience in a microbiology laboratory; or
• Associate’s degree in Microbiology, Biology or related science and five years’ pertinent and progressive experience in pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry. May require willingness to work evening and weekend hours.
