What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Actalent?
Our client, a leader in the automotive industry, is looking for a Quality Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in the Woodstock area.
Description:
- Create documentation for recording, evaluating and reporting quality data based on customer requirements
- A good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and the operation of gauges
- Drawing and CAD review; review concern items for 2D and 3D data, create DSR items list, and request to change items of concern
- Develop and approve new major/minor model check fixtures with the customer and supplier
- Create customer required documentation related to PPAP/PA
- Creating testing strategy (PV and DV plan); creating testing plan based on the customer testing requirements
- Check fixture print to delivery (quotation and customer requirements fulfillment
- Review check fixture designs to ensure they meet the customer drawing requirements and manage the schedule for the builds. Review the build to ensure all requirements are met.
- Create quality schedules and tracking of customer milestone dates.
- Work closely with and lead project QA Representatives to ensure documentation and measuring are aligned to the quality schedule and requirements are captured.
- Liaison with both internal and external customers to ensure customer and company requirements are met.
- Attend part trials to review part quality to the customer requirements and capture information on a PFS
- Measure and 3D scan parts for customer events and root cause analysis
- Quote for sourcing business
- Travel to customer (Internal & External) locations to support measurement and training activity
- Review and update PFS items, evaluate the results of countermeasures implemented.
- The requirements are inherent to ongoing demands and may change to continually improve timelines through assignments accordingly in order to meet customer milestones.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
MUST HAVE: 2 or more years of experience working as a quality engineer in an automotive setting (highly preferred)
MUST HAVE: Experience performing root cause analysis, corrective action
MUST HAVE: Must be able to travel to the US and/or Mexico
Nice to have:
- Experienced working with injection moulding would be an asset
- Program/Project Management experience would be an asset
