What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Supervisor position at Actalent?
Description:
- Complete root cause analysis for quality process, product, and system failures. Evaluate quality KPIs during the shift. Train and develop Quality Inspectors on all quality, regulatory, and employee safety guidelines and ensure quality resources have the capability to deliver quality results for the shift.
- Engage Site Quality Manager, department supervisors, engineering staff, and customer resources for problem resolution and escalation of issues as appropriate. Work closely with other departments to ensure quality requirements and standard procedural practices are met. Assist in preparing/hosting for customer and third-party audits. Monitor and enforce all quality standards compliance per governing certification programs, company standards, and customer specifications. Conduct documentation generation, review, and verification of daily production results.
- Manage non-conforming product reviews and QA holds and completes trend analysis to support continuous improvement. Support resolution of incoming materials issues assists with disposition and follow through with suppliers.
- Provide technical advice to other disciplines within the organization, investigate the problem, and provide an answer. Plan and carry out all special assignments/projects as required. Follow and enforce all the policies and procedures set forth to promote quality and requirements compliance.
- Follows and services as an example for all the policies and procedures set forth to promote quality, safety, and compliance.
- Participates in ongoing learning and developmental activities, including on-the-job training, special project assignments, seminars, web-based training, self-led training, etc.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering field or related engineering discipline preferred, high school diploma/GED and equivalent experience required.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an engineering, machining, quality, and/or another specialized technical role is required. Those with more experience may be considered for a higher level.
- Previous leadership experience is preferred. Experience coaching and mentoring operators, technicians, supervisors, and others to sustain best practices in quality control is desired.
- Must have proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience implementing statistical process control on critical product and process attributes is a plus.
- Experience performing Root Cause and Corrective Action to determine process improvement actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- ASNT Level III NDE certification is preferred but not required.
