Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Technician for a role that combines laboratory and production floor responsibilities. This position operates on a 12-hour shift schedule (7am - 7pm, 2,2,3) with 8 hours in the lab and 4 hours on the production floor. The successful candidate will perform various tests and quality checks, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests for ozone, chlorine, pH, and turbidity.
• Collect and analyze various samples, including water bottles from operators.
• Perform plating for micro counts and coliform testing.
• Carry out packaging testing, including fill weight and strength assessments.
• Participate in CIP cleanings and utilize chemical knowledge where applicable.
• Work hands-on on the production floor to assist with quality control processes.
• Collaborate with quality technicians and management to supervise vision check systems.
• Maintain detailed records of testing procedures and results.

Essential Skills

• Experience in quality assurance, biology, or laboratory settings.
• Knowledge of quality control and inspection processes.
• Ability to perform repetitive and meticulous tasks accurately.
• Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience in the food or beverage industry is highly desirable.
• Understanding of SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
• Willingness to engage in hands-on work and get involved in production activities.

Work Environment

This role operates within a fast-paced and supportive team environment. The position requires working 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, including some holidays with pay. The facility emphasizes a family-like atmosphere with a focus on safety, quality, and urgency. Employees are encouraged to take ownership of their tasks and are provided with opportunities for training and advancement, including industry certifications. The dress code is casual, but appropriate for a hands-on production setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00
