What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate position at Actalent?
Responsibilities:
- Work in collaboration with discovery and preclinical teams to produce raw materials and mRNA products to support in vitro and in vivo preclinical studies.
- Execute analytical testing for non-GMP and GMP release and stability testing for assays such as Appearance, pH, Osmolality, icIEF, CE-SDS, ELISA plate-based methods (Binding, Residual Host Cell Protein, Residual Protein A), and Residual Host Cell DNA (qPCR).
- Support multiscale primary recovery, chromatography and TFF process validation studies to assess process suitability for clinical and commercial manufacturing.
- Review ASQT data and participate in batch release
- Support OOS, deviations, change controls, and CAPA investigations, including the execution of troubleshooting activities, as necessary
- Support evaluation of downstream process robustness through risk assessments, DOE approaches, characterization, and in-process control evaluation in collaboration with MSAT and manufacturing teams.
- Maintain diligent and organized records.
- Clearly communicate results and recommendations to colleagues, team members, and supervisors to support process development decision-making.

Work Environment
This is a 1st shift position. This is a 100% onsite position since they will be working in the lab. This is a very close-knit team and they normally work 7:00am-4:00pm or 7:30am-4:30pm.
Qualifications:
• B.S. or M.S. in chemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, biophysics, biology, or related discipline with 2-4 years of experience, respectively (title can be adjusted based on experience)
• Experience with analytical techniques for protein analysis is highly desired
• Experience with multiple chromatography modalities, column packing and validation, AKTA purifiers and Unicorn software is a plus
• Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative work environment is required
