Our client is known for its transportation infrastructure services. Our client owns tolling concessions in various countries, including their latest acquisition in Richmond, VA. As a road systems engineer, you will cross-team with overseas developers, cybersecurity teams, cloud architects, network engineers, and our local computer consultant. This individual will leverage the implementation and upkeeping of our client’s tolling infrastructure and their enterprise network.
First-day expectations: basic terminology of network systems, business systems, and/or telecommunications. Everything will be taught on the job.
Job Description:
• Monitor the performance of the information systems used for toll collections
• Monitor and track problems involving vehicle detection equipment, antennas, RFID sources, video cameras, network switches, and license plate readers.
• Serve as the main point of contact for tolling systems and IT vendors.
• Monitors toll system health and daily transaction processing.
• Manage all predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Monitor automatic trouble reporting system to ensure timely problem resolution in accordance.
• Ensure the company systems and network comply with internal cybersecurity procedures.
• Ensure network and communications enable the regular flow of tolling transactions.
• Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure in the company.
• Oversee the constant availability of technical resources. • Maintain and supervise the inventory. • Timely reporting on the vendor Jira site for any glitches.
• Troubleshoot, configure, install, and test technical components.
• Report to the Operations Director about daily operations and ongoing maintenance.
• Ensure all works are performed following health and safety requirements and environmental policies.
• Work in conjunction with local and offshore teams.
• Ensure the compliance of all corporate Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality procedures contributing to the maintenance of the Company’s ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 Certifications.

Experience & Qualifications:
- A perfect employee is someone with a bachelor's in telecommunications engineering or cyber security or computer science or information technology. With knowledge in network infrastructure, cyber security, and tolling systems maintenance.
- Someone who is open-minded and eager to learn. 4-8 years of experience.
