Actalent is looking to bring on a Safety Director in Des Moines, IA!!
This is a traveling role
Description:
•The Safety Director is charged with ensuring company-wide safety protocols are developed, maintained, and enforced. This position serves as mentor and provide support for all staff as it relates to safety.
•Be an advocate for safety culture, always doing the right thing, and promote safety of those around you
•Manage and lead safety managers within the company, to ensure they have the support they need and are developing professional.
•Lead by example in the office and on jobsite by utilizing proper personal protective equipment and following all safety regulations
•Develop and ensure Project Safety Plans are being utilized on all jobsites
•Conduct training for project employees and consult with project supervisors to develop safe work plans for all project phases and tasks
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, safety management, construction or related field.
•Minimum 15 years experience in construction industry safety management.
•Minimum 10 years experience managing & leading a structured safety program
•OSHA 500, CSP certification preferable.
•In depth technical knowledge of construction related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices.
