Responsibilities:
The Transportation Engineer will focus on roadway design and active transportation
- Lead, support, and mentor an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts (roadway reconstruction, streetscapes in highly urban settings, trail projects in suburban/rural areas, etc.)
- Use programs such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- 10 years of experience developing construction documents for roadways or highways
- 2 years of experience serving in a project or design management role
- Experience preparing transportation and local agency permit documents
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation InRoads, MicroStation OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience coordinating utility, right-of-way, street lighting, traffic signals, and landscape and hardscape layout
- Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
- Experience working on engineering projects in one or more of the following agencies: MDOT SHA, VDOT, DDOT, PennDOT is strongly preferred
