What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker position at Actalent?
Description:
School social worker for a non profit organization in Hartford, CT, to provide appropriate therapy/care to youth (ages 14 - 24). This individual has completed their bachelors degree in social work and is eligible to practice in the state of CT. They will maintain confidential case files and assist in the development and educational and preventative services to the youth who participate in any of the client's service areas.
- Provide direct services including individual, family and group sessions
- Coordinate proper care with case managers and LCSW
- Work closely with other area leadership to provide optimal services
- Evaluate other services needed for organizations clients
- Will be trained in Positive Youth Development
- Will be trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TEB- Thoughts, Emotions, and Behaviors)
- Will be involved in other on-site programming as needed
- Participates in agency-wide training on fund development and role as an ambassador
- Handle any appropriate responsibilities and functions as assigned by supervisor and/or director
Schedule & locations:
- 8am-4pm - these will be 8 hour days. Will follow Hartford Public School System in terms of weekends/holidays.
- This position will be full-time/year round.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- They are comfortable with entry level candidates (recent graduates) who have a passion with working with the youth population of the Greater Hartford area.
- Candidates will work on-site Monday-Friday
- Bilingual is a very nice to have
- 2-3 years experience based in care management
- Bachelor's degree in social work (must be eligible to practice in CT)
