What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Systems Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
1. Create systems and software requirement specifications for a Web based engineering diagnostic tool that is used to connect to construction equipment for service and testing 2. Create documentation to include business, functional, and performance and Interface requirements to be interpreted by software engineers to design and development software in C and the .Net framework 3. Document use cases, architecture and logic flow, control/diagnostics algorithms, UI story boards, Database design, and commination interfaces 4. Read and interpret software written in the C language (the immediate role does not involve software development primarily but could lead to that in future). This item will be as needed in current role to collaborate with the software engineers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
1. BS/MS in EE/CompE/CS and a combination of 3-7 years of embedded software design, system engineering or web and windows application design 2. Strong writing and documentation skills with the ability to clearly state requirements that are unambiguous and testable 3. Ability to consider system architecture design criteria effected by user, software, hardware requirements 4. Experience developing in the C programming language 5. Experience with SQL database design 6. Knowledge of CAN and Ethernet Communication 7. Good leadership, oral and written communication skills with the ability to professionally support periodic communication to management and technical teams is required.
