What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stress Engineer position at Actalent?
Actalent is looking for a Stress Engineer with extensive knowledge in Damage Tolerance Analysis (DTA) to join the in-service team of one of their clients in the Aerospace Industry. This is a long-term position and is 100% remote, with the exception of 2-4 weeks of training in Montreal.
Description:
• Interact with a multidisciplinary team in the development of structural repair solutions;
• Perform static strength, durability and damage tolerance analyses for specific or generic structural metallic repairs in support to the A220 fleet;
• Support the completion of various aircraft structural manuals such as Aircraft Structural Repair Publication (ASRP) and Aircraft Maintenance Publication (AMP);
• Prepare or review stress analysis reports covering repairs or allowable damage limits to metallic structures;.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a relevant experience of minimum eight (8) years in stress analysis in the aerospace industry including a minimum of three (3) years performing damage tolerance analyses on aircraft primary structures;
• Possess knowledge in aircraft metallic structure stress analysis;
• Knowledge of Aircraft structural analysis and repair procedures;
• MS Office software;
• Damage tolerance analysis (NASGRO);
• Patran / Nastran for pre and post processing models, performing the repairs analyses
• Comfortable in interrogating aircraft structure repair drawings (Catia V5 is an asset);
• Good understanding of applicable airworthiness regulations (experience with Transport Canada is an asset);
