Job Title: Structural Drafter

Job Description

A small consultant in the Wilmington market is looking for a remote Drafter & Design professional to join their team in the office or remotely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Development of all Bills of Material (BOMs) within Excel and/or secondary platforms.

• Make structural plans and detailed drawings.

• Follow budget requirements and guidelines.

• Create accurate project specifications.

• Complete regulatory documents concerning safety issues.

• Finish projects on time and accurately.

• Ability to communicate consistently and professionally with clients and coworkers.

• Confirm the scope of projects.

Skills

• Ability to apply current industry/code standards and information
• Prepare building models and interpret contract documents
• Participate in the development of project specifications and their coordination with the production of structural drawings
• Participate in reviewing completed reports, submittals, drawings, and calculations for accuracy
• Utilize and encourage the best use of design software/technology for presentation and production purposes, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other emerging technologies
• Knowledge of the architectural/engineering design and documentation process, trends in the design and construction industries, construction methodology, sustainability, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness
• Knowledge of metal building systems
• Experience with the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes
• Knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate them into technical documents
• Ability to coordinate and integrate work with engineers, construction administrators, and other members of a project team
• Ability to communicate consistently and professionally with clients and coworkers
