What are the responsibilities and job description for the Structural Engineer position at Actalent?
Overview:
We are seeking to hire either a Structural Engineer or Civil Engineer to support our client in Newport News, VA. This position will be focusing on facilities.
Description:
- Candidate should have structural engineering experience to include performing structural evaluations, conducting building assessments, performing code review/interpretations and responding to emergent safety related issues in a fast paced, large industrial facility setting.
- Assist with performing unplanned event investigations and performing root cause analysis.
- Have project management, communication, organizational and computer skills.
- Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of product.
- Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
- Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Engineering.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Eligible for a US Secret Clearance.

- Pay Rate: $42-$55/hr. OT pays 1.5x
