Description:
This position is an entry-level, engineering track position, responsible for: applying learned academic engineering experiences to real-life engineering problems; learning new engineering design methodologies; learning in-house engineering software; performing engineering design for components and connections; 3D finite element analysis and design; 3D modeling of structures under guidance of experienced staff; learning and performing document preparation in both CAD and BIM environments; and, as requested, managing staff to perform assigned tasks.
This person will be helping to grow the Indianapolis engineering team.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare ALL work in accordance with office approved processes, format and standards
* Work on assigned tasks, under direction of experienced engineering staff, performing engineering analyses and calculations
* Perform 3D finite element analysis and design under direction of experienced engineering staff
* Perform tasks accurately and on time with necessary guidance, and proactively seek advice on tasks
* Meet task deadlines, and adhere to budgeted hours
* Volunteers to work hours needed to meet deadlines
* Volunteers to work additional hours to assist other (not assigned work) to meet deadlines
* When asked, works hours needed to meet deadlines
* When asked, works additional hours to assist others (not assigned work) to meet deadlines
* Manage other staff members, as required, when assigned as a Task Leader
* Participate in activities within and outside the office that increase personal engineering capabilities
* Participate in external/in-house seminars and training activities/sessions
* Participate in the development of in-house design templates, checklist and standards
* Perform other duties as assigned
Getting Started:
* this person will get started by first learning the plant and process behind the production of the panels and pre-cast concrete
