What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supply Chain Manager position at Actalent?
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand the list of items that are required for purchase from various sources (Purchase Request, Bill of Materials, Drawings, etc) and identify sourcing.
- Assist with Operations and Accounting to enable Job Cost Analysis and Financial Reporting.
- Support production schedules and obtain requirements (specs, required delivery date, etc) to enable economies of scale.
- Participate on weekly production meetings and periodic management meetings on procurement activities; report updates on purchase orders and status as required.
- Understand vendors in term of pricing, delivery and quality and set priority lists for each category as applicable.
- Manage and motivate the procurement and inventory team by providing direction and support for future growth and succession planning.
- Provide information and support as requested (materials, components, vendors).
- Identify and implements standardization opportunities and develop the procurement department with proper segregation of duties
- Develop and implement service level agreements with customers (engineering, production, service)
- Organize criteria for outsourcing vs in-house parts production with Production Manager and upper management.
- Supplier and Inventory Management
- Follow all established quality, safety, health, and all other Company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Must have good attendance and be flexible to work extended hours to successfully complete all duties of the position.
- Complete standard work as outlined for the position and follow all working instructions given by management.
- Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards and assist with product quality, audits, and orders as needed.
- Perform all the duties and responsibilities as assigned.
PURPOSE:
- To manage and source mechanical and electrical components required by the Company in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Manage, mentor, coach, train, and provide an opportunity to grow and advance the team’s knowledge.
- Monitor and adjust working hours and responsibilities of the team.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Verbal and written communication skills required: Ability to speak, write, read, and interpret documents in English.
- Interpersonal skills required: Must be able to communicate professionally and collaborate with internal employees and maintain relationship with external vendors as applicable.
- Advanced mathematical skills required: Ability to handle accounting and financial functionality.
- Proficient computer skills required: Outlook, Excel, and other financial, accounting, and purchasing programs.
- Highly analytical, strong attention to detail and accuracy, displays confidence, decision making, and accountability.
- Demonstrated management ability with a sense of urgency; prioritize and multi-task as appropriate.
- Possess positivity and be a collaborative team-player.
