Description:
Provides hardware and software engineering data for compilation into a second level (Level II) Maintenance Manual.
Information gathered from existing product documents, experienced system engineers, or self-mined from operational system.
Product is a proprietary radio communication gateway (analog to IP) with integrated commercial configuration and monitoring subsystem.
Interfaces with program managers and lead technical resources from Systems, Hardware, Software, and Test groups to complete project and meet customer technical requirements and schedules.
Document integration, formatting, and finalization is tasking for others.
Major Functional Areas and Description of Duties:
* Has systems and integration experience and knowledge of software and hardware subsystems and modules
* Can derive overall systems architecture and detailed operations through hands-on investigation
* Performs collection, analysis, and reporting of operational data for use in maintenance, performance, and planning to be documented.
* Provides bulletized information, outlines, or rough txt descriptions of system configurations, module replacement, theory of operation, and troubleshooting steps to tech writers for incorporation into Maintenance Manual .
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience with telecommunications systems hardware and software
Must be experienced in documenting systems and processes effectively
Knowledge and experience in working with digital and analog telecommunications, related methods & tools
Knowledge and experience with test equipment (VOM, Oscilloscope, Transmission Test Sets, Network - based tools)
Product technical areas include: Linux operating system, LDAP/IdM, IP technologies, data bases, networks and related appliances.
Ability to determine needs for maintenance and end-user requirements to be documented to allow customers to maintain the system.
