What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Automation Technician position at Actalent?
Actalent Services is hiring traveling Automation Engineers in the Clackamas area!
Job Description:
This Engineer will be setting up the PLC and HMI for processing equipment so they have to be able to go through and either write or modify the code for the system to run.
-PCL Programming.
-Creating the HMI that interfaces with the PLC through wonderware or ignition.
-Processing experience - how the process flows how to go through each step and what happens in each step
- They do not have to have this process automation experience exactly, but experience with processing systems / and exposure to valves and pumps will help this person to hit the ground running faster.
- Troubleshooting - during the commissioning phase they will help do the install and commissioning of the equipment.
They will be starting up brand new systems so there is IO checks, commissioning and then support afterwards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Design of automation solutions and participate in various phases of automation projects including PLC development, configuration and testing, and the commissioning and start-up of a variety of automated manufacturing processes.
-Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.
-Continually improve packaging and manufacturing equipment controls logic for better efficiency and reduced waste.
-Understand processing automation for troubleshooting and improving cycle time throughput.
One project usually lasts between 2 and 3 months - they are going to be onsite for 2-3 weeks at a time with 5 days off between each week depending on the project.
