Description:
Software Engineer Support/System Engineering Support
1. Help verify the truck build and maintain the software versions of the ECUs
2. Maintain vehicle software according to DTNA product Validation Autonomous Group requirements
3. Minimize vehicle downtime by performing relevant troubleshooting as needed (including verification of dataloggers even if there are no issues seen)
4. Track and periodically report vehicle downtime to the relevant stakeholders
5. Responsible for documenting all functional abnormalities of base vehicle function
6. Document and periodically report issues seen per truck (and platform) to the relevant stakeholders
7. Provide information and support daily operations meetings, alignment meetings and status update meetings
8. Log all relevant data when troubleshooting or gathering information and archive the same in DTNA/ATG database
• Perform procedural root cause analysis of any issues seen in the truck
• Able to get the data log from the truck and parse through the same to understand the triggers that could have potentially triggered the fault
• Work with different teams (Mechatronics and/or software team) to resolve the issue seen
• Functions as the point person for multiple trucks during drive testing
• Creates and updates the Troubleshooting guide based on root cause analysis activities in resolving issues from both integration and testing failures
• Provides lessons learned where necessary to suggest improvement ideas to the help future operations
• Collect and provide metrics needed to track the effectiveness of the trucks
Preferred Experience:
• 2 years of System Engineering (including system integration and testing) experience with Automotive ECUs
• 5 years of total Automotive Software experience (including calibration development, controls development, test case development etc)
• Hands-on vehicle troubleshooting support including acquiring and parsing CAN logs from vehicles, fault analysis based on DTCs set or indicator lights seen, troubleshooting based on incident reporting of drivers
• Expert knowledge in creating test scripts and configurations in CAN tools
• Expert knowledge in using different calibration and programming tools

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent
• 4 years’ experience in Automotive System and/or Software Development/Testing
• Strong understanding of Automotive ECUs, Technology, Systems and Subsystems
• Experience with Ethernet/CAN/LIN loggers (Vector tools, Vehicle Spy, etc.)
• Experience with vehicle calibration tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments with direction from supervisor
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills of test benches, ECUs based on behavior seen and logs collected
• Understand system requirements and control algorithms as it relates to Automotive applications
• Experience with diagnostic protocols in Automotive ECUs (UDS, KWP, GMLAN, etc)
