Overview:
We are in the process of developing our Operations Manager position, you would be an important part of building the position itself. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team specializing in the manufacturing of high-performance race clutches. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our new warehouse, ensuring efficient workflow, managing inventory, and implementing operational strategies. This role is critical in ensuring our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our business goals, particularly in the high-performance automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Establishment of our Department of Operations**:
- Develop key structures and protocols surrounding our operations goals company-wide, this would include constructing and establishing departments and responsibilities.
- Be the main point of contact from department heads/managers in regards to issues, approvals and recommendations.
- Once established, you would be in charge of managing and maintaining the following roles and responsibilities:
2. **Warehouse Management**:
- Oversee the setup and organization of the new warehouse tailored for race clutch manufacturing and assembly.
- Implement and maintain inventory tracking systems to ensure accurate stock counts of raw materials and finished products.
- Manage the receiving, storage, and dispatching of goods, ensuring timely delivery to meet the demands of our customers.
- Ensure the warehouse operates in compliance with safety regulations specific to automotive parts handling.
3. **Fishbowl Inventory Management**:
- Monitor inventory levels of critical components like clutch plates, discs, and pressure plates, flywheels and ensure timely reordering of stock.
- Eliminate out-of-stock situations by effective forecasting based on production schedules and racing season demands.
- Identify and sell slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Maintain a clear visual of inventory on hand and manage order forecasting to align with production cycles.
4. **Operational Efficiency**:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize warehouse and production operations.
- Monitor performance against operational goals and enhance current systems to streamline production.
- Coordinate operations with other functions such as sales, marketing, and production to ensure seamless workflow.
- Address operational issues promptly and develop strategies to prevent them, ensuring minimal downtime.
5. **Team Management**:
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse and production staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide guidance to department heads.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
6. **Process Improvement**:
- Evaluate current processes and identify areas for optimization, particularly in the assembly and testing of race clutches.
- Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure processes are scalable and support long-term growth in the high-performance automotive market. - Create SOPs for all the processes within the company
7. **Customer Experience**:
- Align operational processes with customer needs and expectations, ensuring high-quality and reliable products.
- Gather customer feedback through service channels and address any issues related to product performance.
- Implement strategies to improve customer satisfaction and retention, focusing on racers and automotive enthusiasts.
8. **Financial Management**:
- Assist in budgeting and controlling costs to optimize financial performance.
- Provide financial reports and analysis to the executive team, highlighting cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements in production and operations.
9. **Technology Integration**:
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance operational efficiency, such as advanced inventory management systems and production tracking tools.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to race clutch manufacturing.
- Train staff on new technology tools and systems.
Qualifications:
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
- **Experience**: At least 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive setting.
- **Skills**:
- Strong leadership, problem solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with inventory management, supply chain, and financial management.
- Ability to drive process improvements and implement technology solutions.
Additional Information:
- **Working Conditions**: This role requires working in a warehouse and production environment and may involve occasional travel.
