Action Staffing Solutions is seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses (RN) for a variety of facilities throughout Colorado.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing nursing support and services to developmentally disabled individuals with complex medical and/or behavioral needs who reside in the center. Many of these individuals are dually diagnosed with developmental and psychiatric illnesses. This position designs individualized care plans and interventions to provide care and intervention including assessment, implementation, and evaluation of effectiveness of the plans. This nurse assists with ensuring regulatory compliance via nursing services as well as health services by providing direction to the residential staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Decides appropriate nursing plan of action and the need for physician intervention.
- Assess, prioritize and direct immediate response to serious medical conditions.
- Ensure documentation meets requirements of multiple regulating agencies to ensure successful survey results.
- Oversees provision of and provides clinical instruction to Licensed Psychiatric Technicians regarding administration of selected treatments and medications and nursing policies and procedures.
- Complete all assignments in a timely and professional manner.
- Available to the client in a timely manner to address the needs identified by the direct support staff.
- Treats others with respect. Able to work through conflicts in a professional manner.
- Utilizes communication logs and follow-up sheets to ensure continuity of care. Keeping current on computer advances.
- Shift work- Nursing provides 24/7 care 365 days per year. This position may be assigned to cover any shift.
- Other duties as assigned
License, Certification, Education:
- BLS/CPR certification is required
- Graduation from an accredited registered nurse program
- Valid, active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license valid for the state of Colorado
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must complete the onboarding and hiring process including application(s), documents, competency testing, background investigation(s) and drug screening
- Backgrounds must be clear of any felony convictions
- Must complete all required training as assigned by Action Staffing Solutions and client/facility pre-assignment and annually including but not limited to sharps injury prevention, HIPAA, and cultural awareness.
- Certifications and Licenses including a current valid driver’s license
- Immunization Records – COVID-19, Hep B, TB test/chest x-ray, influenza for the current season
- All employees must be fully vaccinated (defined as two weeks following the completion of the full series of the COVID-19 vaccine) and submit documentation proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Religious and medical exemptions and reasonable accommodations will be addressed as required by law.
- Must maintain all required licenses, certifications, and health records
- Resume with 10 full years of employment (explanation of gaps such as education is accepted)
- Language: Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language required
- Must have excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to assess situations to make independent, policy compliant decisions
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to serve the population with empathy, while staying objective and assertive. Must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds
