ActiveNav is looking for a full-time employee for our Digital Forensics and Incident Response business unit. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting Data Mining. As an ActiveNav employee, you will report directly to the SVP of Technical Advisory.
Your impact as an ActiveNav employee: The position is a mid-level role working within and supporting the Digital Forensics and Incident Response department. You will perform at the direction of a Senior Vice President in the unit to run client cases, which will require analysis of client data.
Job Responsibilities:
- Preserve and analyze data from electronic data sources, including laptop and desktop computers, servers, and Cloud-based content.
- Use ActiveNav’s proprietary software to analyze, interpret and report the extent of compromised information.
- Excel in digital forensic and cybercrime response efforts. Liaise with client representatives.
- Produce high-quality oral and written work products, presenting complex technical matters clearly and concisely.
- Consult with and take direction from supervisors, engagement managers, and clients regarding case investigation and status.
- Contribute to a curriculum and attend in-house training sessions, individualized if needed, for DFIR staff to ensure appropriate development of skills and continued innovation.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in all areas of performance.
- Develop and broaden the forensic skill set through external training and research.
- Support the mentorship and technical development of Consultants in Digital Forensics.

- Comfort with intermittent periods of evening and weekend hours.
Required Experience:
- Proficiency with database querying and analysis.
- Experience with cloud infrastructures for the enterprise, such as Amazon Web Services, Office 365, and Azure.
- Familiarity with computer system hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.
- Well-developed analytic, qualitative, and quantitative reasoning skills and demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities.

Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields is required.
Work Authorization
Due to the nature of this role, this role is not remote, or hybrid must be able to commute to Reston, VA daily.
