What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at ACTORS FUND HOME?
The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Staff Accountant to handle the organization’s cash and revenue processing, recording and reconciliations, prepare related journal entries, bank and account reconciliations, support monthly and year end closings, and contributing to the annual budget and audit process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Staff Accountant will process deposits, record and reconcile cash receipts, prepare daily and monthly detailed cash flow reports, record bank activities, handle petty cash reimbursement and replenishment process, reconcile revenue related receivables and accruals, reconcile special performance and event revenue and expenditures, perform bank, credit card and account reconciliations, perform account analyses and prepare account reconciliation schedules, ascertain and resolve discrepancies and prepare adjustments, prepare revenue accrual, receivable, deferral, prepaid schedules and related journal entries, prepare monthly fund raising revenue detailed reports, prepare and reconcile schedules for investment accounts, and participate in monthly and year end closings and annual budget and audit process.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. or B.B.A. degree in Accounting required
- 2 years accounting work experience required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALITIES
- NetSuite Accounting software knowledge preferred but not required

This is a full-time salaried or hourly position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s National Headquarters Office in Times Square, New York City.
