Our ACTT 3 Team at October Road is looking for a Certified Peer Support Specialist

Candidates must have active PSS Certification in NC

Specific Responsibilities of the Job:
  • Assists program residents in maintaining daily routines by providing motivational support and pro-recovery coping & conflict resolution skills.
  • Conducts weekly Recovery Support services group and provides documentation.
  • Provides shift coverage, days, nights, weekends and holidays as scheduled based on program need.
  • Identifies internal & external barriers to full participation in the treatment setting.
  • Assists the individual and team to develop appropriate coping strategies to overcome these barriers to include but not limited to assisting an individual with anxiety in groups to participate more comfortably & meaningfully in the treatment setting.
  • Attends and actively participates in staff meetings and trainings as needed to include monthly recovery support team meetings.
  • Gathers and shares information with individual regarding recovery community options and recovery community events.
  • Monitors client leave passes and conducts client searches and urinalysis testing as necessary.
  • Answers hotline calls as needed.
  • Provided outreach coverage as needed
  • Responsible for completing all required paperwork according to agency standards.
  • Responds appropriately to the cultural differences of staff, clients, residents, and referral sources.
  • Participates in peer support consultations as needed.
  • Adheres to all policies, procedures & regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Licensure, Education, & Experience:
  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have Peer Support Specialist Certification in NC
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
  • Previous case management or peer mentoring continuing education training preferred.
  • Obtained specialized training in: Trauma Informed Care, behavioral health peer support services, & wellness topics desired.
