Summary of Position: Network Engineer (CCIE Certification Required)
The Network Engineer a part of our Solutions team. The Network Engineer is heavily involved in pre-sales support, sales support, on-going maintenance and tier 3 ticket escalations. Primary functions include the design and configuration of LAN/WAN architectures and SD WAN solutions. Must possess superior troubleshooting skills to minimize down time. The individual in this role will be required to provide structured documentation for all customer facing as well as procedures to be followed by all levels of NOC, implementation, and provisioning support. Must also have in depth understanding of service offerings and ability to develop new ideas based on industry demand and customer need.
Essential Functions
CCIE level knowledge of routing and switching within Cisco Networks, other vendors a plus
Working knowledge of SD-WAN solutions including Viptela, VeloCloud, Fortinet
High level and low level design work utilizing Microsoft Vizio
Ability to create clear and concise IT documentation
Mentoring of lower tier network technicians
Works with Sales, and Network Engineers and leadership to bring solutions to life
Maintaining and monitoring legacy systems to newer technologies
Create high level design, BOM’s, and Run Books
High level consulting skills, analyze client’s business systems, identify options for improvement, and deliver a plan for proposed solution
Required Qualifications
Valid CCIE Route and Switch Knowledge (CCIE within 1 year of hire)
Proven experience with design and instill of SD Lan/WAN Networks
3-5 years of experience using MS Visio
Additional Qualifications Desired
3-5 years of experience in the design and configuration of LAN/WAN architecture
Four year technical degree in engineering, computer science, or information systems or equivalent work experience and training
ITIL Certified
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Ability to capture business needs into formal scope documents
