Systems Engineer/Azure Engineer

Overview

Acuity is seeking a Systems Engineer/Azure Engineer for IT Operations and to build and or administer mission-critical systems to support the Department of State.  

The Systems Engineer should have experience in Windows OS patching, Active Directory, configuration & account management and security parameter remediations (vulnerabilities, compliance). Troubleshooting capabilities a must. Knowledge of VMware a must. Mid level or better proficiency in Powershell scripting a plus.

Junior level Azure Engineer necessary or the desire/wiilingness to learn. MS AZ 900 certification a plus. Experience with PaaS & IaaS a plus. Experience in Robotic Process Automation a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the continual operations and maintenance of systems operated in the Dept. of State OpenNet environment through the continual use of best practices.  
• Manage the continual operations and maintenance in the MAG (Microsoft Azure for Government) environments. PaaS, IaaS.
• Create and maintain architectural, security and other documentation as needed for each system supported.   
• Coordinate with security personnel as needed to ensure systems remain secure.  
• A working in-depth knowledge of infrastructure components (VM’s, Security Products, Network ports and protocols, Databases, Middleware and open source code) to support on-prem systems in an enterprise environment.
• Provide technical support for enterprise infrastructure components (network, database, middleware, security and open source code) technology transitions and migrations to cloud services e.g. Platform as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, etc.
• Coordinate with security personnel as needed to ensure systems remain secure.  
• Understand cloud security plans that implement systems and procedures to effectively secure company information, infrastructure, intellectual property, and users against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure.
• Work autonomously in an area of specialization to analyze internal security and provide relevant information to internal and external customers, suppliers, and partners.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience with VMware 
• Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
• Experienced in Windows OS patching
• Experience with registry editing and security vulnerability remediations

Qualifications Desired:  

• Certification in MS AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) 
• 3-5 years experience with PowerShell 
• Experience in Robotic Process Automation

Clearance Requirements:

• Must have an Active Top Secret level clearance
