Driver

Available Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8AM-4:30PM OR 9AM-5:30PM

*Driver will start in East Brunswick and to Philadelphia area

Drives to designated facilities to pick up blood and specimens and delivers them to the respective location(s). Delivers supplies to designated facilities. Is fully responsible for assigned company vehicle.

Specimen Pick Up/Drop-off

• Picks up blood and other specimens in designated facilities and delivers them to the respective location
• Arrives at the facility at the designated time(s)
• Verifies that no facility’s blood or specimens are missing, documenting on Route Tracking Form. To complete the Route Tracking Form (these logs will be kept by the transportation supervisor for future reference) as well as keep track on company phone.
• Notifies a supervisor if any blood/specimen is missing so that correct measures can be taken to locate it and acquire specimen
• Transfers the bags from the refrigerator at the ECF to a cooler and delivers it to the laboratory as quickly as possible
• Informs accessioning personnel when blood has been delivered.
• Maintains cooler with frozen ice packs as needed.

Requirements

Eduaction / Experience : Any one of the following will be considered:

• Requires High School Degree or GRD
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
• Clean driving record, free of violations and points is essential.
• All restrictions to driver’s license (corrective lenses) must be adhered to.
• Experience in retail or food service delivery is preferred.
• Professional disposition

Tools / equipments / instruments:

• Fisherbrand Sharps and Collection Disposal System.
• First Star transportation cooler.
• Coleman transportation cooler.

Hazard:

• Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens or other potentially infectious material. (if working in lab setting)

PPE:

• Exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens or other potentially infectious material. (if working in lab setting)

WORK RULES

• Gloves shall be worn at all times when it is reasonably anticipated that employees will have hand contact with B&BF.
• Gloves (Latex, vinyl, powdered and unpowdered) are disposable and shall not be washed, decontaminated or re-used for any purpose.
• All gloves shall be removed and discarded whenever they have lost their ability to function as a barrier.
• All gloves shall be discarded immediately after removal.
• All gloves which have become contaminated with blood or other potentially infectious material shall be removed immediately and discarded.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
