Acumatica is hiring a Director of Revenue Accounting to join our growing team! The Director of Revenue Accounting will report to the VP, Global Controller, and will lead the global team responsible for the full order-to-cash cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred 10 years of experience in accounting including 6 years in revenue accounting, with a focus on technology or SaaS industries preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role including managing global teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders Deep working knowledge of ASC 606, including multiple-element arrangement accounting, standalone selling price establishment, contract modification accounting, etc. Expertise in subscription billing processes, systems, invoicing, and collections strategies for indirect sales channels Experience with revenue recognition system implementations Demonstrated success in leading revenue accounting functions through rapid growth and expanding product offerings, with a proven ability to develop and execute effective strategies Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and delve deep into processes and systems Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex contracts Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively Travel requirements-Limited travel (

For this role, the salary range is $160,000- $190,000 annually. This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job and may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant elements. At Acumatica, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. Acumatica is hiring a Director of Revenue Accounting to join our growing team! The Director of Revenue Accounting will report to the VP, Global Controller, and will lead the global team responsible for the full order-to-cash cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead global revenue accounting, contracts, billing and collections functions, establishing a long-term vision of the order-to-cash process for scalability.
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations related to SaaS revenue accounting and assess their impact on the company.
- Provide thought leadership and establish a long-term vision for scalable order-to-cash process including system requirements for the revenue recognition process compliant with US GAAP ASC 606
- Provide guidance and expertise on complex revenue transactions, including SSP analysis and allocations in multiple-element arrangements, to accounting, FP&A, sales, product management, services and customer support teams
- Lead global order-to-cash team through monthly and quarterly closing cycles, ensuring timely delivery of revenue figures with accuracy and completeness. Perform financial analyses to support reconciliations of revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable and other monthly and quarterly analytics
- Be proactive in identifying and chasing down issues within revenue accounting, as well as providing timely updates and documentation through conclusion of these issues
- Responsible for managing revenue related support provided to external auditors and to the internal FP&A team
- Address contract-related issues from legal and sales teams with special consideration to billing and revenue recognition implications
- Research and document complex revenue accounting matters in technical memos
- Lead the design and documentation of SOX controls relating to order-to-cash and revenue accounting close; post launch oversee and ensure controls remain operational.
- Mentor and coach the team of global accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities
- Perform other ad hoc responsibilities as necessary
