Project Manager (Production Planner)

Summary

Employee will be responsible for the management of material requirement planning (MRP) orders to meet established production schedules, maintain production order policies and interface daily with Sales/Service and manufacturing personnel to achieve production schedules and Sales/Service goals. Identify scheduling and/or production order problems and coordinate resolutions. Investigate and test potential opportunities to improve utilization of ERP computer system. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Design and redesign manufacturing processes to ensure maximum productivity.

· Develop master production schedules consistent with production requirements.

· Manage the release of production orders to meet manufacturing and service goals.

· Confirm and transfer planned MRP orders to shop floor to support production schedules.

· Execute production schedules to maximize resource utilization and product flow.

· Work with team leaders to ensure the accuracy of the electronic scheduling boards (ESB). 

· Ensure accurate and timely processing of production order rescheduling and exceptions.

· Provide technical floor support and participate in cross-functional problem-solving efforts. 

· Standardize operating procedures and cultivate a teamwork approach to problem solving.

· Develop performance measurements to monitor order release effectiveness, key work center output, MRP system data accuracy and progress of special projects or 01 operations.

· Process information as required within JobBoss MRP computer system.

· Coordinate production order cancellations with Shop Floor.

· Coordinate manpower planning with respect to holidays, vacations, and absentee of direct labor force.

· Maintain all necessary records, files and reports.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

· Lead daily production meeting and regular company-wide capacity meeting

· Execute production schedules to maximize resource utilization and product flow across 300 CNC machines in 4 facilities and resolve problems both in-person and remotely.

· Collaborate with Planners to manage OTD and inventory levels in a dynamic build-to-forecast environment for high mix, high complexity type of work.

· Monitor order quantity vs. make quantity, avoid overproduction, and excess inventory.

· Ensures all parties are fully cognizant of production status, and that work planning and execution objections are integrated and communicated.

· Work closely with all departments to prioritize production schedules.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Requires an Associate’s degree in Business Management and five years experience in production planning in a CNC manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) integrated systems environment.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form. They must also be able to differentiate between capabilities of CNC equipment to identify potential capacity resolutions. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsibilities include training and assisting employees related to scheduling and capacity related functions.
