Primary Responsibilities:
In this role, you will serve as an experienced individual contributor within a team, with the expectation that you will further develop your leadership, guidance and mentoring skills. With minimal oversight from leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements. A Senior Quality Assurance Engineer impacts the long-term goals of the program, while contributing to the development of the program’s engineering strategy. You may serve as the discipline's primary lead when working with stakeholders and utilize strong influential skills to drive improvements in engineering processes and practices. Primary expectations of a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer include:
- Strong influential skills to propose and evaluate multiple approaches to technical and process problems
- May lead small, less critical, or temporary team structures and projects
- Presents testing strategy, results, risks, etc. to clients, stakeholders, partners, and other engineers
- Demonstrates expertise, accountability, and ownership for testing strategies, tools, and frameworks for the program
- Able to lead the development of a variety of test suites and partner with the team on optimizing them within their software development lifecycle
- Designs and maintains information dashboards that inform the program on multiple facets and trends of quality (defects, load testing, etc.)
- Monitors coverage of quality test suites (automated and manual) and builds plans to fill gaps, directing junior staff as needed
- Develops program testing strategies for teams to follow that are tailored to the technical stack and skills of the team
- Participates in planning and design sessions, informing team decisions on architecture and implementation that enable testing strategy, including automation.
- Actively participates in design and ensures building systems that are testable in the outset
- Participates in technical interviews with new candidates
- May serve as a mentor to other junior level team members
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience
- Experience establishing and evolving QA processes and tools
- Experience creating long term plans for improvement and delivering on them with out a lot of oversight or guidance
- Ability to think big-picture, but still work hands on
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with complex Government environments
- Experience in the following areas:
- Manual exploratory testing
- Automated functional testing
- Continuous testing
- Data testing
- Performance testing
- Accessibility testing
- Cross-functional requirements testing
- Strong experience with JavaScript
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Cypress or Selenium
- Experience with GitHub Actions, CI/CD process tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI
- Experience with RestAPI development and maintenance
- Experience and understanding of agile methodologies
- Experience collaborating with external teams and stakeholders
- Exceptional attention to detail

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility. The range of starting pay for this role is $113,900 - $135,000 and information on benefits offered is here.
