Maintenance Technician
POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for a wide range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic and electronic machine maintenance duties to ensure proper and continuous operation of production machinery and equipment. Perform building maintenance duties. Obtain work order and following prescribed procedures using standard methods, repair and service motors, relays, contacts, integrated circuit cards and boards, bending and installation of conduit and the termination of wiring. Use hands, power tools and simple machine tools utilizing constant alertness and attention.
Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations, and unusual conditions to proper supervisor. Observe all prescribed safety rules including clothing, shoes, safety glasses, helmets, ear plugs, etc. and regulations and maintain neat and orderly work area. Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnosing electrical problems and malfunctions and taking corrective action
- Maintaining and repairing plant equipment
- Developing wiring diagrams as necessary
- Using precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter
- Maintaining, repairing, testing, and calibrating instrumentation and equipment of several types including flow meters, thermocouples, HMI, laboratory control instruments, loop controllers, PLC and process control and related networks, page phones, radios, and various other forms of electrical / electronic equipment
- Completing record and inventory of supplies necessary to perform jobs.
- Maintaining company work tools.
- May be called upon to initiate, lead and design small projects as directed.
- Perform other related miscellaneous duties as required to maintain or improve plant reliability.
- Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic system inspections following established procedures and/or other written or verbal instructions.
- Perform Scheduled Preventive Maintenance and assist implementation of daily PM’s for operators.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on all assigned equipment.
- Must regard safety as a core value.
- Identifying and examining production equipment failures to understand root cause.
Repair, maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
3 years as an Industrial Electrician or related electrical experience.
Associate degree in industrial maintenance, Machine Repair, Automated Mfg, or Journeyman’s card preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Electrical Certification preferred
