Inventory Auditor
The Inventory Auditor is responsible for a physical count of inventory in warehouse. Verify floor count matches count in warehouse management system (Encompass). Audit any discrepancies between actual inventory and Encompass inventory. Verify that proper rotation and labeling procedures are being followed by warehouse team. Manage weekly inventory write on processes. The Inventory Auditor is a non-exempt position.
This role will report directly to the Operations Manager and Warehouse Managers.
Primary Objectives/Role and Responsibilities:
- Use IPad and scanner to conduct physical warehouse counts of all inventory in an ongoing basis in multiple warehouse locations. Confirm that on floor inventory matches system (Encompass Inventory).
- Audit and investigate any inventory discrepancies by checking all bin locations, bin history and bills of lading with the goal of eliminating shrinkage
- Communicate inventory discrepancies to warehouse manager and branch manager.
- Perform random audits to confirm all warehouse personnel are following proper procedure with labeling, receiving, replenishing, rotation and order picking. Confirm that the warehouse is following procedures to move damaged cases out of saleable inventory and returned cases back into inventory.
- Confirm warehouse is selling the oldest inventory first and that all items are properly rotated
- Communicate any potential code issues in a timely manner so the warehouse manager and sales team can work to sell through slow moving items
- Work with warehouse manager and corporate admin team to write on and off inventory on a weekly basis for package products and monthly basis for draft products.
- Participate in weekly inventory calls
- Communicate all inventory issues and concerns to warehouse manager and brand VP in a timely manner.
- Run adjustment reports and confirm that items are clear to be written on or out of inventory
- Other duties as assigned including participating in inventory counts in other locations (Charlotte and Wilmington) as needed.
Development of the Position
- The position will require continuous education and product knowledge. As Adams Beverages adjusts changes or acquires new brands, this position will need to understand these brands.
- Completion of all assigned ABU courses that relate to the position and safety.
- Remain versed on all aspects of Route Accounting System, Warehouse Management and Mobile applications (Encompass).
Competencies & Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ warehouse management & inventory experience (preferably in a distribution environment or beverage wholesaler)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
- Availability & Willingness to travel on limited engagements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Enthusiastic, Team player interested in positive company growth
- Strong Organizational skills
- Must possess strong math, analytical and time management skills
- Excellent computer skills in working with email and communications (Microsoft Outlook), Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Encompass
- A clear understanding of Company policies and the ability to adhere to them
- The ability to meet all standard employment requirements.
- Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required

- Role requires strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively relay inventory management strategies
