Regional Advertising Director
This Regional Advertising Director will lead our advertising digital sales and print efforts for APG East LLC consisting of 9 community publications – 3 dailies, 6 weeklies. This position will lead the advertising sales effort for our websites and Premium Editions plus various other promotions. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess effective presentation skills, creativity, strategic thinking, idea generator, good oral and written comprehension, deductive reasoning, and excellent managerial skills. Must have a strong work ethic and ability to motivate staff and willingness to lead by example. This position will base out of the Greenville, NC.
Job Functions:
- This position will develop and manage the advertising strategy, both from a business, sales and technical perspective.
- This position will be heavily involved in budget development and projections for advertising
- This position will work their staff to develop a plan of action to grow the digital revenue and to motivate staff in that direction
- Experience working in small markets will be beneficial to this position
- This position will rely extensively on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- This position will provide vacation and illness relief for their direct reports
- Perform job duties and conduct self in accordance with company core values
- Initiate and nurture effective, professional relationships with internal and external contacts
Minimum Requirements:
- The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in the print and Internet media industry.
- At least 5 years successful track record of sales management experience.
- Specific management experience in the following: national account sales, retail sales, digital sales and strategic planning and thinking
Technology Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite & Google Workspace required. Ability to learn other relevant software programs and teach direct reports is paramount.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related areas or the equivalency thereof is preferred. 8 years experience in newspaper and/or shopper advertising marketing and sales.
