Position Overview:
As a Baker you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the preparation of baked goods from pastries, cakes, donuts etc. You will play a key role in in creating and executing menus, and ensuring the quality and presentation of baked goods.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accurately measuring and mixing ingredients to create various types of dough and batters
  • Operating ovens and other baking equipment to ensure products are baked consistently with the highest quality
  • Inspecting finished products to ensure they meet the quality standards in terms of taste, texture and appearance
  • Promoting a positive shopping experience for customers while maintaining a well-organized visually appealing bakery department
  • Monitor the quality and freshness of baked goods produced to meet and/or exceed customer expectations
  • Ensuring proper handling, storage and rotation of baked goods to minimize waste and maintain optimal quality
  • Staying up to date with baking trends, ingredients and techniques to enhance menus
  • Monitoring portion sizes and over all consistency of all baked items in production
  • Monitor and manage the bakery inventory which includes but is not limited to ordering ingredients, controlling stock and minimizing waste
  • Address customer complaints or concerns in a timely manner with professionalism to ensure continued customer satisfaction
  • Implement cost effective measures to optimize kitchen expenses
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance management and feedback to encourage growth and development
  • Ensure and adhere to health and safety regulations, including but not limited to proper handling of produce, sanitation and safe use of equipment
  • Implement and enforce cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations
  • Adhere to all company safety standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Experience:
  • Preferred: One (1) year baking experience or relevant experience
  • ServeSafe certification or comparable
Skills:
  • Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
  • Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
  • Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
  • Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
