We are looking for a senior level DevOps Engineer to work collaboratively with our software development and data analytics teams to deploy and operate our systems. The Senior DevOps Engineer will build and deploy automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. This role will also be to create and maintain tools for product deployment and system monitoring. Responsibilities will also include troubleshooting and resolving issues in both our internal and customer environments. This position will support all aspects of Revoro Development, Test, and Production environments in Azure. This is a remote position.
This person would be responsible for:
Implementing and supporting Revoro’s applications infrastructure in Azure utilizing IaaS and PaaS Services
Proactively identifying and reducing issues through design, testing, and implementation of software-based solutions
Driving efficiencies through software improvement and root cause analysis resulting in service delivery, maturity, and scalability
Practicing sustainable incident response and retrospectives
Adhering to company security policies and effectively control access to data
Maintaining documentation for IT processes, procedures, automation, trouble tickets, network configurations, hardware/software inventory, and audit requests
Off-hours and on-call work as required
Creating and configuring Azure resources that support our custom applications.
Collaborating with Engineering and Program Management partners to translate customer, business, and technical requirements into architectural designs and feature releases
Continually investigating methods to improve system reliability and performance
Automating software builds, configuration, and deployments to testing and production environments
Managing IT related initiatives including long-duration projects across multiple departments
Managing and prioritizing multiple related projects, including troubleshooting, operations, and maintenance of the enterprise in a team environment
Engineer and Support complex data warehouse(s) infrastructure as well as corresponding PowerBI reports
Creating and maintaining technical and procedural standards documentation.
Presenting technical materials to technical audiences
Ideal candidate would possess the following skills and qualifications:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in the IT field or in a related discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience operating large scale distributed services
Minimum 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure Resource Manager and related resources, particularly PaaS and IaaS
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Must possess the ability to perform work in a “Dev/Ops” environment
T-SQL knowledge is preferred
Demonstrated scripting ability (PowerShell, Python, or R is preferred)
A strong understanding and experience with successful implementation of system integrations (particularly using REST API's)
Understanding of application architecture and design needed to provide operations perspective to developers and product team
Experience with monitoring platforms
Must possess the ability to direct and act as a resource for less experienced team members and relay necessary information as appropriate
Experience leveraging cloud architecture, applying site reliability principles, and/or demonstrating sensitivity to operational concerns
Full-stack troubleshooting skills across network, application, hardware, management fabric, and distributed services layers
Knowledge of disaster recovery preparedness and response
This position requires:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of the cattle industry is a plus.
Experience with SaaS business models is a plus.
Experience with automated deployment of client apps is a plus.
Off-hours and on-call work as required
Travel is expected to Adams or Revoro offices approximately one time per quarter.
