Position Summary: Adams State University invites applications for the Clinical Counselor position, working in the counseling Services Department. We seek an energetic and approachable individual who is a talented and experienced counselor and who is passionate about working with college-aged students and non-traditional students. The Clinical Counselor will serve as a therapist in the Adams State University Counseling Center providing clinical mental health counseling to ASU on-campus and online students who reside in the state of Colorado. The position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of the Counseling Center, carrying a reasonable counseling caseload, and providing outreach and prevention programming. Salary: The salary range for this position is $52,075-$59,235. Adams State University offers a competitive benefits package. Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities): The Clinical Counselor, who reports to the Director of Counseling Services, is responsible for the following Assisting in the day-to-day management of the ASU Counseling Center Provision of culturally responsive mental health services including individual, group, and couples counseling as assigned under the clinical supervision of the director Completion of accurate and timely documentation that complies with state laws and ethical guidelines Planning and implementing prevention and awareness activities including activities related to suicide prevention, alcohol and drug awareness and prevention, sexual assault prevention, and other activities as assigned Providing intervention for identified students in a compassionate, professional, and timely fashion and providing appropriate referrals to on-campus,- local, state, and national resources Networking with on-campus, local, state, and national entities related to prevention and awareness activities Required Qualifications: MA/MS •required in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field Licensure-eligible and hold a temporary licensure permit (LPCC or equivalent) One year of experience working directly with a college-aged student population Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy ånd to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community Preferred Qualifications: Licensure in the State of Colorado LPC or LCSW Experience and expertise in planning and implementing prevention and awareness activities on a college campus Experience supervising clinicians-in-training and other staff Cultural competence in diverse student populations Applications: All interested candidates must submit application materials electronically to through the ASU Careers page.
