Position Summary: The Department of Engineering and Computer Science is seeking applications from current Ph.D. students or post-docs in the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering at Colorado State University Fort Collins. This opportunity is available under the MOU to “Establish a Postdoctoral Opportunity between Adams State University and Colorado State University.” Primary responsibilities include teaching lecture and laboratory courses in engineering, and physics depending on background and experience, as well as other duties assigned by the School Director and commensurate with the needs of the Department. The teaching load is 12 credits per semester. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse faculty, staff, and students within the School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and across campus. Candidates should demonstrate that they possess (1) a commitment to student-centered instruction, (2) a commitment to furthering the university’s mission of Inclusive Excellence Qualifications ● Ph.D. degree in a field of engineering from Colorado State University by the start date ● Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and student-centered learning ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ● Commitment to valuing equity, treating cultural and linguistic diversity as assets, and promoting inclusiveness ● Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive resolution when the situation requires. Preference will be given to applicants who possess/demonstrate ● Ph.D. in mechanical engineering ● background/experience in the following areas: CAD and manufacturing ● experience teaching at the undergraduate level ● experience using a variety of delivery methods for teaching Salary $66,000 to $70,000 commensurate with experience, for a traditional 9-month academic-year appointment (plus $15,000 stipend to be provided by CSU).
