Job Summary:

The PMO Manager & Project Manager is a dual-role position that combines the leadership responsibilities of the PMO with direct project management. This role is central to both overseeing the PMO and actively managing key projects within the organization. The incumbent is expected to take ownership of the project management of assigned projects from initiation to completion, actively removing obstacles, facilitating essential meetings, maintaining rigorous documentation, and ensuring transparent communication with all stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree: In Business Administration, Project Management, or related field.
  • Project Management Certification: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent, with a preference for candidates actively managing projects.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in project management, with a proven track record in leading and delivering complex projects successfully.

  • Advanced Project Management: Proven expertise in taking ownership of project management, demonstrating exceptional problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong ability to communicate effectively, fostering collaboration among teams and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Excellence: High proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Tools Proficiency: Skilled in JIRA, Confluence, and Google Suite, with an ability to adapt to new project management tools quickly.
  • Agile and Other Methodologies: Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and other project management methodologies, applying them effectively in various project contexts.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and lead PMO staff, providing direction in project management methodologies and practices.
  • PMO Coordination & Oversight: Oversee PMO operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and efficient project execution.
  • Hands-On Project Management: Directly manage critical projects, setting benchmarks for excellence in project execution within the PMO.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Project Leadership: Actively manage and lead projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Governance & Methodology Application: Implement and maintain project management standards and methodologies, applying them personally to projects under direct management. Create project charters and use industry standard practices to drive projects to successful completion.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Identify and address project blockers, facilitating smooth project progression.
  • Meeting Facilitation & Stakeholder Engagement: Organize and lead essential meetings, maintaining active engagement with all internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Ensure thorough documentation of project proceedings and provide regular, proactive updates to stakeholders.
  • Resource & Budget Support: Track resource allocation and project budgets effectively. Assist in gathering and delivering relevant financial data related to projects to stakeholders, enabling informed, data-driven decision-making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Consistently seek and implement improvements in project management processes and PMO operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily office-based with the necessity to operate computers and other equipment.
  • Flexibility for travel as needed for project execution and stakeholder meetings.
