Job Posting for Manufacturing Technician at Adecco Life Sciences
Adecco is working with a global provider of integrated solutions for lab animal research. This is a direct hire, full time role onsite in Torrington, CT. The Manufacturing and production technician will be responsible for assembling electro-mechanical products using hand tools, power tools, and machinery, working from manufacturing procedures, bill of materials, and related technical documents.
Primary responsibilities:
Perform complex mechanical assembly operations.
Assist in product development – research materials specifications to meet marketing, technical and financial objectives, prepare working drawings and prototype as required.
Collect all material(s) and equipment needed to begin assembly processes.
Maintain Inventory of materials for production.
Locate, identify, and establish sources for production and design materials.
Create and follow written policies, work instructions, and procedures.
Prepare finished work for test, shipment, or storage.
Responsible for product quality and production quantity – work must be inspected to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards before, during, and after completion.
Report defective materials, scrap, production problems, or any other unusual condition or circumstance.
Recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain records and other pertinent data as instructed or required.
Work with a minimum of supervision following processes and procedures.
Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition.
Maintain tools in good condition and perform equipment maintenance as established or required.
Follows all safety rules and report questionable conditions to supervisor.
Remain flexible and willing to work in various operations depending on company needs.
Support company initiatives including continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and product.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Design and implement Lean manufacturing processes including value streams, flow, and pull.
Qualifications:
Experience using a broad range of inspection and measurement, electronic, hand, and machine tools.
Ability to use machine tools and operate a CNC machine.
Ability to work with CAD system for adjusting and documenting mechanical design and drawings.
Strong time management skills and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work on multiple projects/deadlines.
Manual dexterity to manipulate and put small parts together quickly and accurately.
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills.
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
Basic inspection/auditing.
Good communication and interpersonal skills as position works both independently and in a team environment.
Engineering degree preferred.
Experience with production process improvement methodologies such as Lean manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, etc.
This position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.
