The Chicas College and Career Facilitator offers culturally responsive college and career access resources through a lens that prioritizes the intersecting experiences of bicultural, first-generation Latine students.

By providing personalized guidance through one-on-one support and engaging community events and workshops, this role supports Latine youth and their families in comprehensively navigating the admissions process to colleges, universities and trade schools, accessing financial aid resources, and exploring career paths.

Working closely with Chicas staff and school district partners, the Chicas College and Career Facilitator ensures that 11th and 12th grade students in our program receive the necessary support to successfully graduate from high school and transition into post-secondary programs.

The Chicas College and Career Facilitator reports to the Chicas College and Career Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide specialized culturally-specific college and career support to participants and their families across the Beaverton, Hillsboro, and Forest Grove school districts
• Lead dynamic college and career workshops and afterschool sessions for 9th-12th grade students, providing comprehensive guidance on college and trade school admissions, financial aid, post-secondary transition, and career preparation.
• Organize interactive visits to local colleges for program participants and their families, focusing on resources specific to our Latine population
• Undergo comprehensive training to specialize as an IDA Specialist, responsible for overseeing a portfolio of IDA participants, actively engaging with prospective savers, facilitating enrollment, and ensuring ongoing communication throughout their program participation.
• Deliver presentations to community members, partners , and stakeholders related to the Chicas College and Career Component

QUALIFICATIONS :

• A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Adelante Mujeres and support for immigrant and BIPOC communities
• AA Degree or higher in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or strongly related field
• Bilingual-Bicultural in Spanish / English
• One year of group facilitation experience for youth and families
• One year of experience providing Latine students and families with college and career readiness support
• Familiarity with local college access programs and experience fostering relationships with partners
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and communicate accurate information
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, parents and other members of the school community
• Proven ability to independently lead projects and a strong sense of self-direction
• Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously, coupled with exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva
• Access to reliable transportation

• Proven experience in leveraging resources to provide comprehensive college preparation tools to families
• Committed to education, social justice, women's empowerment, and the environment

Additional Requirements :

• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required except for religious or medical accommodation

• Possess current driver's license and auto insurance coverage
• Ability to travel out of town to attend workshops or trainings

SALARY & BENEFITS :

• Salary R ange : $ 2 3 .00 -$25. 00 hourl y , depending on qualifications
• Classification : Full-time, hourly
• Telework : up to 2 day s a week
