Reporting to the Operations Manager or designated manager, the Lot Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring the lot is properly organized for each sale for efficient and effective function of the entire lot in accordance with corporate guidelines. Perform all duties assigned by the Operations Manager or designee. Possesses a comprehensive understanding of lot operations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Coordinates the daily activities related to vehicles being in the correct location and ready for the auction. This includes organizing the flow of vehicles and assisting the Operations Manager in the coordination and scheduling of daily lot movement.
- Assist the Operations Manager with department safety compliance and training.
- Assist in training all employees within the Department by company standards and guidelines.
- Maintains and reports inventory of gas and diesel weekly and calls in the order to the supplier.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers. Resolve any customer complaints.
- Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment consistent with Company guidelines.
- Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins, schedules and accounting from the Operations Manager or designee or other corporate sources.
- Assist in employee meetings to communicate Company objectives, resolve lot issues and build teamwork among the employees. Maintain a good flow of communication with all personnel.
- Assure good operating condition of all equipment including jump trucks, tow trucks and snow plows and informs Operations Manager of equipment needs
- Inform the Operations Manager or designee of all breakdowns and maintenance immediately. Ensure good routine preventive maintenance.
- Make sure all lot conditions do not threaten employee or customer safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee complaints in a friendly, courteous manner and advise the Operations Manager or designated manager of all serious complaints or incidences.
- Maintain and promote positive employee relations and morale whenever possible by practicing sound leadership to promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance. Follow through and communicate employee relations problems to the Operations Manager or designee.
- Fill in for other lot positions as needed by Operations Manager.
Qualifications:
- One (1) to two (2) years of lot operations experience is preferred.
- Auction knowledge and experience is preferred.
- General automotive knowledge is required.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Must have the ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver's license.
