Verifications Specialist
The Verification Specialist is responsible for the preparation and completion of re-verifications needed to satisfy the Mortgage loan Quality control process. Re-verifications (written and/or verbal) typically include Employment and/or Occupancy as required by client and investor QC plans.
What you will do (Responsibilities)
You will use a wide range of tools to re-verify information provided during the origination of a mortgage loan transaction. Users are asked to use online verification service providers (free and paid) along with telephone contact to complete the package prior to review by a QC Underwriter.
Essential Job Functions and Requirements
- Navigate websites to obtain public records relating to occupancy.
- Contact Utility Companies as needed to confirm active service.
- Contact Hazard Insurance Companies as needed to confirm active service.
- Contact employers to obtain a re-verification of Borrower’s employment information.
- Request written mail as required when verbal verifications are not obtainable.
- Other job duties as assigned
What you will bring (Qualifications)
Required Education/Work Experience
High School diploma/GED. Previous experience in clerical or administrative job duties is required with preference given to those with entry level customer service or telemarketing experience.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Required to navigate Internet, emails, and online search tools.
- Strong attention to detail, and precision of data entry.
- Ability to concisely explain loan defects in narrative form.
- Ability to multitask and navigate several programs and applications.
- Expected to work independently to organize workflow and priorities.
- Communication skills (written and verbal) are vital to effectively obtaining needed data.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality and security policies to protect Non-Public Information.
