Job Description:
L3 Exchange Administrator to support an Exchange Hybrid messaging environment in a large enterprise. This role requires an individual with subject matter expertise administering Exchange and Exchange Online in a Hybrid environment, as well as administration of Anti-Virus and Anti-SPAM email gateways (i.e., Proofpoint). The individual must possess excellent troubleshooting skills from both client (Outlook) and Server, be familiar with installing/upgrading Exchange software and have good communication skills.
Work environment is a hybrid work environment - combination of Remote and Office work.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide implementation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and monitoring support for the Messaging environment. This includes Exchange on-prem, Exchange Online, and Email Gateway systems.
Analyze requirements and apply Exchange patches and upgrades when appropriate
Manage and operate email routing devices and services (Proofpoint, Exchange Online Transport, Rules, etc.).
Perform day-to-day management and administration for Exchange Online system within an Office 365 hybrid/cloud environment.
PowerShell scripting to automate repetitive tasks.
Provide rotational on-call support
Work within an Incident Management System (ServiceNow) and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and requirements
Distinguish the difference between user problems and enterprise issues decisively
Ability to work with the end user directly to support complex Outlook issues not resolvable by L1/L2 support.
Partner with business units to evaluate and drive adoption of new capabilities for Office 365 and related tools, services, and systems
Be accountable for the security and reliability of the messaging environment
Tracking and escalation of incidents with Office 365 technical support
Basic Qualifications:
Be able to work within a Team environment, collaborate across IT functions, and company business units.
Extensive experience with Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange (2013, 2016 or 2019)
Extensive Experience with Scripting/Automation through Exchange PowerShell or other scripting languages
Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment.
Time management skills with the ability to work within an IT Service Management/ticketing system (ServiceNow) independently
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to triage and properly classify incidents and prioritize work efforts accordingly
Extensive experience with planning, deploying, and documenting patch and configuration updates
Education:
The candidate must have at least a bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years’ experience
Experience/knowledge of Linux and/or Postfix is a plus
