Position Summary
The Associate will work with Aditum Bio partners to identify new investment opportunities and support the due diligence process on those opportunities. The associate will play an important role throughout the investment lifecycle, supporting activities from defining initial areas of interest, to aiding in diligence and deal negotiations and transactions, to new company formation.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform research to help identify new investment opportunities. To evaluate drug assets of interest to Aditum Bio, the associate will conduct research and analysis to effectively screen drug assets that are of interest to Aditum Bio. The Associate will proactively and regularly engage with key contacts and prospects.
- Conduct due diligence and financial modeling. This includes gathering key information from target companies and industry experts, competitive analysis, developing business plans and testing their feasibility. Over time, this may include leading internal and external team members in managing financial, legal and operational due diligence.
- Execute in-licensing transactions. Help lead in-licensing transactions for new company formation, including term sheet, license agreement and financing document negotiation.
- Portfolio company business development and exit transactions. Support business development objectives for Aditum Bio portfolio companies including M&A, Pharma partnerships and financings (e.g., Series B).
- Assist the Partners in key decision making. Based on analysis and research, provide advice and recommendations to the Partners as relates to key decisions of the firm. Present findings to Aditum Bio investment committee.
Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree in finance, business or related fields preferred. MD or PhD is an asset, but not required
- At least 1-2 years of experience in venture capital, investment banking, or management consulting
- Experience serving life science clients
- The ability to perform in-depth industry due diligence and data analysis
- Experience working cross functionally to develop business plans and strategies
- Strong track record in effectively working with senior management
- Proven ability to work collaboratively internally and externally, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
