Schedule:
Our Housing Coordinator position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with the possibility of one remote day per week.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A HOUSING COORDINATOR
Client Support:
The Housing Coordinator acts as a vital role within the Adjoin Veterans program. The purpose of this role is to provide exceptional services to the homeless and homeless Veteran population through advocacy and empowerment. The Housing Coordinator’s goal is to assist the Veteran population by coordinating, conducting and securing permanent housing options/placements for Adjoin Veterans participants.
A Housing Coordinator is focused on:
- Conduct landlord outreach and education in order to develop a network of landlords available to rent to participants.
- Support Case Coordinators with ongoing housing search services and services related to securing and maintaining housing.
- Identify and secure available permanent housing opportunities for participants as needed.
- Be responsive to landlord questions, and needs, and update assigned Case Coordinator on issues that may impact housing.
- Assist Case Coordinator with providing follow up services to landlords including on-site visits, monthly phone contacts and recording up to date participant and landlord information.
- Liaise between the landlord and tenant (participant).
- Maintain positive communications and relationships with individuals in cooperative agencies, property managers, landlords, housing resources, and involved members of families and participants.
- Coordinate with the local housing authorities/landlord engagement committees and others that provide landlord incentives available for AV use.
- Maintain an inventory list of all landlords and housing placements.
- Develop and maintain all records, reports documentation required by the funding agency and the needs of the Program for tracking and progress purposes.
- Organize, plan and lead networking events, program activities and groups.
- Complete in a timely manner all logs, reports, and participant evaluations as required.
- Prepare, submit, and deliver rental related Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA’s) checks.
- Provide direct service as needed and required.
- Perform all duties as assigned.
- Provides and attends all required meetings and in-services as assigned.
- Completes all required training within required deadlines.
- Complies with all safety standards and practices.
Qualifications
SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- PREFERRED- Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, business or related field and/or a real estate certification/license
- and/or two years equivalent experience in housing placement, real estate, sales, and/or property management.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and capability to maintain well-organized records and files.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time.
- Ability to travel in and throughout the state on a quarterly basis to attend meetings, trainings, etc.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Acceptable DMV record.
- Physical evaluations may be required dependent upon specific assigned duties or compliance requirements and may include a
- TB test and/or a lift and transfer test.
- This position requires employees to be fully vaccinated and boosted against Covid-19.
Work & Physical Requirements: This position requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. Capable of writing, using a computer keyboard, telephone and related office equipment. Ability to lift 25lbs required. Appropriate and professional dress is expected.
When in the office, this position will normally spend long periods of time in a sitting position (60% of the day).
He/she/they may use a computer, which would involve repetitive finger, hand and wrist motion (60% of the day) and require being
able to see the computer screen (60% of the day). When in the field, other physical exertion could involve walking, climbing stairs,
lifting, stretching, bending, etc.
Appropriate and professional dress is expected.
In the field, the employee will be working in community environments, employment sites and office environments. Potential exposure to noisy environments at job sites. Exposure to blood borne pathogens could occur. (Hepatitis B vaccines are offered to all employees at no cost to the employee.)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Adjoin employees must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated and receive their booster dose when eligible.
- The Housing Coordinator must be capable of making on-site visits to clients, agencies and employers. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists. Overnight travel is rare but may be required for training and as part of a client's program. A House Manager may transport a client as part of his/her job duties.
- Adjoin does not furnish transportation or vehicles for its employees however, mileage is reimbursed. A reliable means of transportation, valid California license and insurance is required.
- He/she/they must successfully pass a screening for illicit drug use prior to employment.
- He/she/they must possess a record clear from past felonious criminal activity and submit to a Department of Justice criminal activity background check.
Salary : $23 - $26
