We are looking for exceptional individuals to work in our program as a Direct Support Professional. This position pays $17.00 - $17.25 per hour and offers both part-time and full-time schedules. There is no office in these areas as all work will be done with clients in residencies and/or at home.

AS A DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL: you will provide Independent Living Services (ILS) for adults with disabilities. These services may include:
- Assisting clients with cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting
- Community integration, socialization, or any other goals that may foster independence
Job duties are performed 1:1 at the client’s home or out in the community.
OUR DIRECT SERVICE PROFESSIONALS ACHIEVE SUCCESS BY:
- Providing the client with appropriate and effective services such as support and training programs
- Serving each client in the least restrictive environment
- Increasing the independence of all clients served
- Assisting each person with improving his/her quality of life
- Participating in client evaluations through task analysis and other requested assessment devices
- Providing direct service as needed and required
- Performing all duties of a direct service provider as assigned.

SKILLS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bilingual
- Must be 18 years of age or older with a minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Must successfully complete a Red Cross approved First Aid and CPR class within 45 days of the date of hire OR already possess a Red Cross approved First-Aid certificate.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Some of our clients are physically impaired and require assistance into and out of wheelchairs and other assistive devices. The Direct Service Professional must be able to perform such tasks on an urgent or emergency basis. Many of the jobs/activities in which our clients engage require physical exertion on the part of the Adjoin staff person (i.e., walking (75% of workday), climbing stairs (10% workday but on a frequent basis), lifting (10% of workday but on a frequent basis), stretching, bending, etc.). A Direct Service Professional must have the ability to talk, hear, and see in order to assist the client in his/her quest for independence.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Adjoin strongly recommends that all employees be vaccinated against COVID-19.
- The Direct Support Professional must be capable of making on-site visits to clients, agencies and employers. Often these on-site visits are at a distance from the office and no regular means of public transportation exists. Overnight travel is rare, but may be required for training and as part of a client's program. A Direct Service Professional may transport a client as part of his/her/their job duties.
- Adjoin does not furnish transportation or vehicles for its employees however, mileage is reimbursed. A reliable means of transportation, valid California license and insurance is required.
- He/She/They must successfully pass a screening for illicit drug use prior to employment.
- He/She/They must possess a record clear from past felonious criminal activity and submit to a Department of Justice criminal activity background check.
- Adjoin's client case management platform requires employees to utilize a mobile smart device(i.e. cell phone/tablet) with reliable internet connectivity and data to complete certain essential job tasks. This position requires the employee to have a mobile smart device available to perform certain required essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided to the employee.
