2023 Regional Airline Passenger Survey - DATA COLLECTORS NEEDED - TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT, October 2023
- The Metro Washington Council of Governments is sponsoring a passenger intercept survey of airline passengers at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI).
- The survey will occur in October, and consist of 14 days of interviewing over two weeks, including both week days and weekend days, including an on site training prior to the beginning of interviewing.
- We need professional individuals to help us administer the questionnaire. This is a temporary position in which you can expect to work 14 days. Estimated fielding window is October 2nd - October 25th but is subject to change.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Access to internet to enter daily response rates and receive assignments.
- Personal email that can be used for project communications.
- Cell phone that can be used to communicate with your field supervisor and project team.
- A vehicle in good working condition or access to reliable public transportation to BWI.
- Ability to pass a background screening.
- Ability to travel to BWI for two badging appointments, approximately 1 hour each, and two weeks apart, prior to the start of the survey.
- Successful completion of an in-person, mandatory on site training in late September.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Experience in field data collection.
- Experience in working in a customer service setting or working with members of the public.
- Experience in working with the public and leading a task.
- Experience in working off-site with little face-to-face contact with supervisor.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- Very well-organized and good at adhering to a tight schedule.
- Ability to use a tablet and basic troubleshooting skills.
- High self-confidence and the ability to deal with difficult situations professionally.
- Comfort in speaking in front of a small or large group.
- Early morning person – scheduled arrival time can be as early as 5:00 a.m.
- A professional appearance and demeanor.
WHEN: A mandatory on-site training will take place approximately a week before the beginning of the survey.
PAYMENT: This rate for this position is $22/hr. Each assignment will be 2 hours, and each data collector will be scheduled for 8 hours. For use of a personal vehicle, you will be reimbursed at the rate of $.655 per mile (plus tolls and parking).
