Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Drafter to join our team. The Drafter is an integral part of a diverse team working in a fast paced environment. Work is accomplished by planning and completing the production of high-quality drawings, traffic control plans, and permitting maps created for customers in the telecommunications industry. The person in this position will be required to work on and coordinate multiple projects, including establishing deadlines and ensuring production standards. additional responsibilities require input into team projects and solution development for application problems. employees are expected to perform their duties in a manner that promotes customer service and harmonious working relationships. his person will be able to engage in effective team participation through willingness to assist management and support co-workers. Openness to constructive feedback and regular attendance is an essential requirement of this position. If within an hour of office location, training will be accomplished in office before the employee is released to a remote position.
Duties:
- Draft new and revise existing, aerial and underground plant facilities based on field and design information provided.
- Read and interpret utility engineering drawings and plans to draft communications networks.
- Collaborate with team to develop accurate and precise drawings
- Render detail drawings where required of MDU (Multiple Dwelling Unit) schematics, trenching details, road/bridge crossings, and details.
- Review, modify and incorporate design changes and updates into existing drawings
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure project deadlines are met
- Ensure compliance with client standards and regulations. Other position related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1 years experience in Telecommunications, Outside Plant or Mapping Operations of a Fiber Network.
1 years relevant drafting and detailing experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Up to date knowledge and understanding of the construction telecom industry, including documents, drawings, specifications, construction practices and methodology, and an understanding of AutoCAD and drafting standards. Knowledge of drafting principles, techniques and procedures. Able to create or modify drawings from engineer-provided mark-ups/redlines with a high level of attention to detail. Proficiency with Windows systems and Microsoft Office programs. Experience with files sharing, document management and collaboration tools such as ProjectWise, FTP, SharePoint, etc. Experience organizing and managing multiple projects and priorities. Understand and implement a wide range of client standards. Perform tasks in a fast paced engineering/production environment. Must be able to solve basic mathematical problems and make correct calculations. Must be able to perform duties in a manner which promotes harmonious working relation ships, including treating all persons courteously and respectfully in a professional manner. Duties of this position are performed with a high degree of independence and confidentiality; the incumbent is responsible for independent judgments in determining appropriate action based on technical knowledge.
