What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Architect position at ADP?
ADP is hiring a Principal Architect in the Network Services Automation space. This position is preferred in our Alpharetta (GA), Roseland (NJ), Miami (FL), or Norfolk (VA) locations, but remote will be considered for the right candidate.

What You'll Do:
Lead the development of innovative network core, security and web services self-service automation and life-cycle management tool development from concept to delivery with a focus on new technologies in the areas of Public/Private Cloud, SASE, SDN, SD-WAN, Load Balancing, Network Security CDN, DNS and automation.
Participate in all facets of requirements gathering, prioritization, design, development, testing and execution of network engineering and security automation requests
Work closely with senior IT and business leaders to align network service automation activities with business objectives
Build strong cross-organizational relationships; effectively work with staff across the IT organization and the broader enterprise to align the network security technologies with overall organization needs
Lead the development of network performance and capacity guidance dashboards to collect, analyze, and summarize data and trends
Regularly communicate the status of network service automation initiatives to IT leadership and internal business partners
Support adoption of new technologies and tools, recommend capability improvements, and assist in lab/QA deployments for technology trials
Work closely with system of record owners to define integration rules and data acquisition options (streaming, replication, batch, etc.).
Work with core network, security and webservice engineers to define workflows and data quality monitors
Make decisions about in-house developments, purchases, or partnerships on product level.
Ensure team follows software life-cycle best practices and ensure quality control
Perform detailed data analysis to understand the content and viability of data sources to meet desired use cases.
Be a mentor to other team members and lead through example by influencing the use of standards defined by the team and technical leadership
Minimum Requirements:
You'll have a Bachelor's degree OR equivalent
Minimum of 10 years of Software Development work experience in Architecture, Design and Engineering.
Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD), Microservices architecture, Containerization, Design Patterns, API Design, and System Integrations
Experience in recommending, designing, implementing, maintaining software life-cycle best practices and code quality
Experience with cloud native tools, patterns, and frameworks
Development experience with some of the following technologies Java/JEE technologies, .Net, Kafka, Reactive Patterns, Hibernate, SpringBoot, Docker, AWS, JSON, Git, Python, React, Angular etc…,
Experience with many of the technologies listed above, with SME level understanding on a few and the ability to pick up new technologies as the environment evolves.
Ability to be flexible, decision oriented, and motivated to support management initiatives
Demonstrate a consultative approach to strategic decisions with a particular emphasis on design and delivery
Extensive experience with design and code reviews and providing guidance to development teams
Ability to Define and Document APIs in accordance with the ADP standards and work with different groups to publish the APIs
Experience researching various approaches, creating proof-of-concepts, assessing pros and cons, and presenting viable fit-for-purpose designs
Experience in making informed decisions about capacity, reliability, scalability of software components and underlying infrastructure
Knowledge of operating systems, networks, database, and system integration technologies
Ability to establish relationships with business, IT leaders and technology subject matter experts
Ability to lead and work closely with different teams, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate advance problem solving and analytical skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills that include the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally with technical and non-technical personnel at all levels
Experience in application development and agile is required
Experience with Analytics and Data Insights a plus!
